Fall Foliage, Day 12 - Lebanon, Illinois
The day started off with some work time in the RV before lunch at Las Cabañas, the only Mexican restaurant in Lebanon, Illinois. I found it interesting that nothing was spicy (salsa, sauces, etc.) and wondered if it was a conscious choice on the restaurant’s part.
Then we basically just played with Daisy June the rest of the day. Christian invented a new game with her where he waves a blanket on the ground, inciting seemingly-infinite rounds of belly laughter.
We’ve been off-grid on the street outside Adam and Amy’s place for the last four days, and have only used 17% of our battery system, but we put out our solar panels today anyway.
In the evening after Daisy went to bed I worked on our t-shirt quilt, and Christian answered emails/worked.
Also it rained at night! I love falling asleep in the RV with the sound of the rain on the roof (Christian adds: and the smell coming in).
Fall Foliage, Day 13 - Lebanon, Illinois and Maryville, Illinois
We ran some errands today in nearby O’Fallon, Illinois, stopping at Walmart and Home Depot to storage in the shower since we don’t use it. We also grabbed some DELICIOUS gyros and home-made dulmas at Lilly’s Gyro in Fairview Heights, just outside of O’Fallon, Illinois.
After Daisy’s nap we spent some time playing, then I went out to the RV to assemble the new storage area.
In the evening we spent some time at Grammy’s house (Christian’s maternal grandmother) eating Chipotle and playing Rummikub along with the Penningtons.
Once back in Lebanon, we had a little more quiet work time. I filled our new storage area with winter clothing that was previously living in the back of the car:
Tomorrow we’re planning to head into the city for some tourist time.
