Home for the Holidays, Day 14 - Abingdon, Maryland and Staten Island, New York
Alfie had a blast on our morning walk - he was shivering a little when we were out on the pier, but he later saw at least five different squirrels and chased one of them up a tree. Once we were back at the RV, he stayed on alert for a bit, looking out the front cab windows to keep tabs on the intruders.
I caught up on blog posts, started looking into a photo gallery page for the blog, and created a real-life photo gallery on our fridge using leftover IKEA curtain wire, RIKTIG curtain clips with the hanging hook removed, and photos ordered from Polabora.
We drove out to visit Nana and Papa (Christian’s paternal grandparents), making a pit stop halfway at a Whole Foods in Philadelphia for lunch and snacks (I’m loving the Wellshire brand snack sticks).
On the drive, we practiced for our remote-audition for Thoroughly Modern Millie at the Firehouse Theatre. Alfie even sang along during vocal warmups:
At Nana and Papa’s, we had a home-cooked meal and spent a few hours chatting and catching up (and playing along with Jeopardy and Wheel of Fortune).
Also, apparently Alfie actually has a movie and song named after him!
and that I look like “that girl on TV”. They sent us off with a lovely poem and some fresh fruit for the drive:
We stopped at the same Whole Foods on the way back to re-stock our fridge/freezer.
Back at the RV, we unpacked groceries, brainstormed Christmas card options, and worked on a little coding for the blog.
