Home for the Holidays, Day 16 - Abingdon, Maryland to Luray, Virginia
Once I woke up and walked/fed Alfie, it was time to start cleaning/packing up to leave for our next stop.
While waiting for Christian to wake up, I made some Christmas decorations for Harvey:
Being in a pull-through spot made it much easier to decouple the car (and no backing required!). After filling up the RV’s gas and a little finagling of the tow dolly around various obstacles, we were off to Luray, Virigina. Halfway through the drive we took a break at Moorefield Park (for its dog park). There was some agility equipment set up there, which reminded me that I want to start training Alfie on our obstacles, which led me to start researching a DIY set (weave poles, bar jump) out of PVC.
We arrived at the campground before sunset and got checked in - the park is pretty empty, and it’s situated in a valley with the Shenandoah River going right past it.
After disconnecting the car, we ran out to Walmart for a cast-iron skillet, headphones, storage containers, and other miscellaneous odds and ends.
Back at the RV I used our new purchases to organize Alfie’s drawer of stuff:
We made seven-layer dip and ‘hash’ for dinner (in the new skillet).
Then Christian helped me work on the photo page for the blog. When it got down to the fiddly troubleshooting bits, I handed it over to him and read a little before bed.
