Home for the Holidays, Day 17 - Luray, Virginia
This morning after throughly bundling up against the 25º weather, Alfie and I went for our morning walk (he wore his boots for the first time). The sun was just coming up and it was gorgeous:
Back at the RV, I made myself breakfast (in the cast-iron skillet, of course) - bacon, egg, and mixed greens that I wilted a little in the bacon fat.
Then I washed up the dishes, made a few mini snowflakes, and watched Enchanted while working out.
After my training time it was Alfie’s - he’s got sit, come, and stay pretty well (in a distraction-free environment), but I’m working on the consistency of down (and not needing to lower my hand all the way to the floor) and holding stays longer.
Then I started calculating the dimensions/materials for agility obstacles.
Once Christian was up and fed, we headed out to the Luray Caverns. In retrospect, the value for our money was not great - but the caverns were certainly interesting to see once.
Our over-priced tickets also included admission to the Car & Carriage Caravan Museum and the Luray Valley Museum. I did a quick walk-through of the cars with Alfie once again in my shoulder bag, and passed on the history museum in favor of more walking.
After Christian was done at the second museum, we stopped by the local hardware store to get agility obstacle materials.
Back at the RV, we had leftovers for dinner and I made paleo pancakes for dessert (I used gluten-free flour mix instead of coconut flour out of necessity).
We wound down with some tea and reading fanfiction/learning Swift for me and Christian, respectively.
