Home for the Holidays, Day 20 - Marion, Virginia

Our morning walk today was along the lake and back. When we got back to the RV it was really cold (IKEA thermometer said 40s) even with the heater on. At this campground we’re never really in direct sunlight with the trees and the mountains, so I skipped our morning training session and just cuddled by the heater after breakfast.

I did manage to fill up our water tank, but we were parked just a few feet too far forward to empty the black/gray tanks, so I’ll have to try again tomorrow.

After Christian’s breakfast, we went on a hike around the lake (5.7 miles!) seeing some gorgeous views and finding a geocache.

Back at the RV we filmed our audition tape for Thoroughly Modern Millie, then unloaded the car to restock groceries.

Our first stop was 40 minutes away, but they were out of eggs, produce, and meats. The next stop was another 15 minutes away from the campground, but when we got to where it should have been it had closed and a lending loans store was in its spot. We decided to just try Kroger, and they wound up actually having a fantastic selection of the type of food we like (we’re kind of picky about sourcing/organics).

Back at the RV again and Christian whipped up some fish dinners - ocean perch salad for me (the mayo kind) and salmon salad for Christian (the lettuce kind) - while I edited together the singing/dancing/backing track for the video before bed.

Home for the Holidays, Day 19 - Luray, Virginia to Marion, Virginia I forgot to take up Alfie’s water bowl last night, so he woke me up earlier than normal today. We had a short walk through the fog before the rest

Home for the Holidays, Day 21 - Marion, Virginia I managed to get Alfie to sleep in till 9:30 morning - the hike yesterday must have tired him out. We went for a couple-mile hike across the road,
